Artist Statement
My current body of work takes two forms, each drawing from surrealism themes. My oil paintings portray figures within surreal environments. These works are created using old master oil painting techniques and often uses juxtaposition to challenge or create narratives.
Works on paper are created using surrealism techniques, such as automatic drawing. I then find and enhance images within the chaos, similar to recognizing shapes in cloud formations.
